Valentina Sol Pucarelli (they/them) is an Argentinian-Italian Visual Journalist and Media Creator. They focus on video and photography through a social justice lense. They are also experienced in journalism, communications and filmmaking.
24-year-old Pucarelli was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2017, they moved to Chicago, Illinois to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for Film and Photography. In 2020 they transferred to Columbia College Chicago to focus in Interdisciplinary Documentary and they graduated 2021. They have had various jobs throughout their college career, including Photographer, Videographer and Media Trainer for SAIC, Storytelling Intern for the Illinois Coalition for Immigrants and Refugee Rights, and Photojournalist for The Columbia Chronicle. Since graduating, Valentina has worked as a Communications Intern for the Chicago Community Bond Fund, Editing and Distribution Intern for Miraflores Films, Content Creator for music festivals like Ruido Fest and Riot Fest, and more. Currently, Pucarelli works as a Video Maker and Editor for View Point Strategy and cultural projects like Safffo and SMOT in Rome, Italy.
